April 16, 2012 Danli


¿Que Pedo Raza?
So ya im pretty sure with the call and everything will work the same. i Already have a number that i will call you on. the way things work out here for cell phones is they do pre-paid and the buy sim cards. so i bought one that i will use for my whole mission i think as long as i dont lose the number. and i already have the saldo (minutes) to call you so it should be a good time.

So you guys still want to know about conference we watched it in the stake center in Danlíin english on a plasma screeen. with a/c haha and during the sessions we oredered pizza hut it was a lot of fun.
Could you guys dome a huge favor and get me elder skidmores email i would like to emal him.
this week was ok we had a nother baptism of name named Roger. His is 69 his wife is dead but the awesome thing though he counts as a family. because the were married by law to the church he is concidered a family. so we worked alot with his daughterto help us because she is already a member. she told me that 2 years ago that he got contacted in the street and the missionaries came to thier house. and his daughter would always hide. but one day he didnt tell his daughters that the missionaries were coming over so they started to take tohe lessons and the youngest got baptized. but at that time roger didnt. that was 2 years ago. then my comp and his last comp started going back over there. he had a little issue with coffee but we got him to stop drinking it. he is a very awesome guy.
it was a little hard this week my comp is a little bull headed on a few things so im really trying to be but manb alive he is really testing it. he likes to spend a lot of time with the members just chilling at thier house. we didnt have too many lessons this week. im trying to talk to him about it but i really dont want to stakt a fight over stupid things. one of the big things is he doenst ever like to do things with the zone and he makes everyone zone mad. its frustrating but im praying for help. its hard.
but my area reall isnt that special there isnt a whole lot. we live in a very small house. we have a hill behind our house that has a cross on it but basically its all mountains like norther az. but it is a little chilly out here. there really isnt a whole lot here. i miss monjaras a lot i really didnt even get to say good bye to any one it was really lame.
we went back to the city againfor my comps allergyand everytime im there the secretary to the presidentasks me if im ready to come into the office. and i tell him... no haha.
but im trying my best and you guys were right my mission will help me learn pactiens and a whole lot more i didnt know i needed work on.

Danli, April 9, 2012 Happy Easter

Well, we never got a letter from the week before. We found out that he sent one but somehow it got erased. So, here is the first letter in Danli.


Dear mom and everyone,

First off sorry about the letter last week i wrote one and sent it i swear. Second off wow dad not going to lie you are looking really old and skinny. some times working out can be bad for you haha. oh and thirdly i dont complete 6 months till the 12 so just hold on haha

ok so danli is very big ya. we can take a rapidito bus to tegus for 20 mintues and still be in my area its rediculous. so up here in the north part of the mission its a little bit cooler. in the night if we go out i have to wear a sweatshirt. in my area we are in the middle of centro where all of the markets are at. so threre is some really cool stuff out. but i promise thats not what i will spend the money on haha. people are very different out here. the are more americanized than the cities in the south. people out here can actually read and take showers everyday. they know how to keep themselves up i guess. my comp is a little interesting. he is from nicaragua. he is from the capitol a city like tegus if you can imagine that (which honestly i couldnt before my mission haha). he is super rip haha well he is in very good shape. he is a little head strong doesnt like to do much. with his old comp the wouldnt go to pday with the zone. so everyone in the zone think he is a little rude and anti-social. but im trying to breaking out of that shell haha. with me he is really cool and most of the members really like him. but its whatever i like doing stuff with the zone so he can just lay down at the chaple while everyine plays haha. but i love him he is a way tight kid.

here is danli the actually have enough priesthood for a stake. so im currently in a ward. it is called bella vista (bea. the bishop is really cool he is an ex-missionary that served in el salvador. he is a teacher here so he is a little on the wealthy side his house is huge and he actually has a washing machine. which is a very rare comodaty in this part of the world haha. the second counsler is really cool his name is jorge. he is like 25 years old and him and his wife have been married for like 7 years. but they are the coolest people in our ward. the ward is very cool and they love to work with the missionaries. and love to give us food. but because we are up in the mountains we have to climb hills all the time so i have been dropping weigh too.

well the area is alot like norther arizona. there is a lot of pine trees. it kinds feels like if you were to put a town in the middle of the mogian rim haha. we have a baptism set up for the this weekend his name is rodge. he is a 75 year old widower so he counts as a family. but yesterday in church we had to easter stuff going and so in our class of investigators we talked about the atonement. and he said the closing prayer and while he was saying it he started to cry. his daughter who we are also teaching told us that he never cries that ehrn his mom died and when his wife dies he never cried. the spirit was really strong in that class. and this guy lives about 20 minutes by bus away for the chaple and comes by himself we dont heve to go pick him up. it was way awesome.

so for easter here they just dont celebrate it for just one day. the holiday here is called semana santa which means the holy week. so their spring break was this last week. it is also the hottest week of the year. so i really wanted to be in monjaras for that. one of the hottest place in the mission in the hottest part of the year. but its whatever. so everyone here is at the beach or visiting family so the work was really hard this week. esspecailly on good friday. nobody does anything. ingluding the pulps there is nothing that it is open. so the work is very hard this week. because everyone just wanted to be left alone with thier familes. but everyone restarted work and school this week so iots should be a little bit better this week.

The one good day i had was i went on divisions with my dl who knows some people from back home. it was really cool. we got done with district meeting and headed to his area. we ended up with like 6 lessons a new family and put 3 dates with his inves. it was probably the most successfull day i have had yet it was awesome. but that night at about 11 oclock at night my dl gets a call from a guy that is making a wood plack for him. so this guy is an ex-missionary that turned acohlic. so the guy comes over complete blasted asking for 100 limps at 11 oclock at night. and he started to do the you dont know me you dont know why i do the things i do speech. and he was just beening bull headed not letting me ralk not letting me give him advice. i think i really made him mad oops i was just trying to help him. it really riled me up i didnt get to bed till almost 1 am that night. and the next morning we did a hike that is redeculously hard haha but was way fun you could see like 4 different areas from the top.

but this week was good i think this is going to be a good area im excited to get it going out here. i hope everything is going great i love you guys

He's Been Transferred!!! DANLI April 2, 2012

This week, we had gone to conference and then up to Lauren and Dennis' for the weekend. While we there were on our email, and noticed that he had sent his dad a letter.....


hey dad,
sorry i forgot to email you the last 2 weeks. i would just run out of time. everything is going great. sounds like you guys are having a great time in idaho. i dont want to be there its too cold. but i did get you emails and i wasnt ignoring you on purpose. im just trying to make sure im following all the rules. but last week i got made senior comp so im pretty excited. ill go into more detail in the other email. but just know pres. hernadez thinks im doing a good job. haha. love miss alot and going to phx with you and cali st

This made his dad happy because he had written him a couple of times and never said anything about it. Then Garrett noticed that Spencer had been on facebook and change his language to Spanish and his city was now Danli. We got all excited because we figured he had been transferred. Garrett posted on Spencer's wall...."Hey Bro," and he responded. We then had a conversation with him on facebook. We knew we shouldn't be doing it, but it was so hard not to talk to him. This is the conversation we had with him....

    • ya danli is an entire zone monjaras is just 2 areas i live in pueblo nuevo and no i wont and that scares the crap out of me

    • you guys still in idaho

    • Yes we'll go home wednesday. Drive all day. Lauren has to work today. She;s taking tomorrow off

    • Is your companion a greenie? Do yo know where Cizmas is?

    • happy birfday mom i almost barrowed a member phone to call you on saturday and no we came to honduras together so i have 6 weeks more than him and my area touches the area of cizmas

    • thank you for the birthday wish. It was a good day. Thats what dad did but he had co-companionships

    • you only have 13.87 in you account....You had 90 before today.

    • $90 the last time I put money in your account for the divorce

    • i have no idea all i took out was 900 limps today which is 45 dollars

    • i took out 400 on thrusday too

    • i have been so broke for like 2 months

    • i know I feel so bad for you! Did Carter go home?

    • no he goes home on the 18th and i compete 6 months on the 12 boo ya

    • Connor wants to know about his wallet

    • my old zl from monjaras has it they are going to tegus on wed for a councel so i will get it then and i think i should get it ready to go after that

    • ya i know im a cool brother. i have a little something for everyone in the house i got you mom a honduras shoulder bag dad i got a really cool shirt garrett an olympia barclet and flag the futbol team of honduras and mitchell idk yet but i have centro marcado in my area

    • The best gift you can give your family is the work and example you are to your brothers! You are awesome. Finish your letter and get back to work. This has been fun. We love you and pray for you always. Faith and fear and be in the same place so don't worry about your little family. If they want to get baptized, it will all work our! Love you ! MOM and DAD

So we said good by and waited for our letter. The last couple of weeks, the email came in late at night I think because of the pictures. So we waited and waited and waited. I went to bed a little disappointed because the email never came. We figured that we had taken too much time facebooking so he didn't have time to write. We accepted that we got to talk to him "live" and we were happpy, but I will never do that again, because I really did miss my letter.

So as you can tell, He has been transferred and he will miss this little family's baptism. The ups and downs of being a missionary.
